2 Cameroonians awarded by Queen Elizabeth

Last year, a search was launched to find exceptional young people to receive the first ever Queen’s Young Leaders Awards. Hundreds of applications flooded in from incredible young people all dedicated to making lasting change in their community and beyond.

This was the joyous and unforgettable moment for two very talented and hardworking young Cameroonians as their blood, sweat and tears was celebrated by the most famous monarch in the whole wide world, her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in her Buckingham Palace home in London last night.

Alain Nteff, a 30 under 30 to watch Forbes Africa nominee, who has won many awards as well as nominations on many lists for young achievers/game changers to watch - for his GiftedMom initiative was celebrating last night as he met the Queen and received his Queen's Young Leader Award.

Joannes Paulus Yimbesalu was also celebrated last night for his recognition on the education led initiative, Hope for Children Cameroon (Hopefcc) which provides education to underprivileged children thus enabling them to maximise their full potential.

The winners of this prestigious award also received a unique package of training, mentoring and networking, including a one-week residential programme in the UK including collecting their award from Her Majesty the Queen.

With this support, award winners will be expected to continue and develop the amazing work they are already doing in their communities.
