Colonels Jacob Kodji and Souleymanou Massokano have now been assigned a mission, to combat the eradication of abuses from the Boko Haram sect in the region."You have to invest unceremoniously to destroy and reduce the activities of this sect. You do not have a choice. You must succeed or face the consequences".Minister delegate explained.

Yesterday at place des Fêtes in Maroua, the Minister delegate at the Presidency in charge of defence (Mindef) respectively colonels Jacob Kodji and Souleymanou Massokano assumed their new roles as Captains of no.4. This is the joint military region (RMIA4) and Commander of the Fourth Region of put in charge the first two leaders of these units created as a result of the texts signed on 14th August by the head of State.

More than anywhere else, this zone is the main operation zone of the Islamist sect Boko Haram in Cameroon. A large crowd, consisting of part of the local elite and members of Parliament gathered to welcome them.

Mindef reminded them of the context of their appointment, characterized by the latest atrocities of Boko Haram that recently resulted in the death of more than a dozen people and the abduction of as many others in the town of Kolofata and Ziguague.

The two men have thus understood, before an enthusiastic crowd that they have no State of grace in the performance of their tasks. Moreover, Mindef reminded them that they must pay particular attention to the foreign communities in the region, and particularly the religious authorities.

In addition, they must work to eradicate other threats which weigh on the region, and are sometimes due to the instability prevailing in some neighbours. Faced with their men, and as stated by the Minister delegate at the Presidency in charge of defence, the two military leaders must be examples. "Be blameless heads, remain close to your men and be permanently on the ground", he recommended to them.
