Two people, Ernest Fotso and Michele Matsinkou, were killed in a severe car accident which occurred at 17:45 at Bamougoum, intersection of Bafoussam III district western region Cameroon.
Reports say the accident resulted from a malfunction of the braking system of a yellow trailer LTTR registered 701 AH, carrying cement.
According to information collected from the motorized road platoon in Bafoussam and gendarmerie brigade, Kongso-Bamougoum, the vehicle from Douala, had brake failure at the Bakassa descent and struck two vehicles, including the Toyota Corolla of Ernest Fotso, registered G OR 216.
The unfortunate man, whose age was not identified, was returning from the funeral of his uncle in Bafoussam.
In the vehicle, there were two women who were injured and one child with a scratch on his forehead and were taken to the regional hospital in Bafoussam.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old student at the CM2 Ep Totchap, who was selling bananas at the crossroads Bamougoum, was hit down by the trailer as she was returning to the family home.
The two bodies were recovered by their families. An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident but the driver of the tractor-trailer was no where to be found.
