207 m Cfa collected in Douala to fight Boko Haram

The city of Douala is contributing towards war effort at a time where Cameroon is faced with insecurity posed by the Nigerian Islamic sect Boko Haram.

Economic operators and elected representatives of the people in the economic capital brought on Friday, March 13, 2015 the equivalent of 207 million Cfa Francs to support the national army and populations, victims of the conflict imposed by the Nigerian terrorist sect Boko Haram.

Contributors have brought money, tonnes of foodstuffs and items valued at tens of millions of Cfa francs. The collected products will be stored at the airbase 201 in Douala.

At the end of the ceremony for the fundraising, Governor of the Littoral region, Joseph Beti Assomo, said he was'touched' by the momentum of solidarity and generosity of the people in Douala.
