50 Mayors schooled on resource mobilization

Fifty mayors from all the regions of Cameroon have been trained on how to effectively participate in the management and mobilization of resources.

The seminar was organized by the Local Government Training Centre, CEFAM in Buea-South West Region.

These mayors, who have received acute knowledge on how to develop their constituencies, were award end of course testimonials.

During the course, mayors were called upon to speed up development in their various localities by working hand in gloves with stake holders.

They were also told to identify and establish priority needs, work in harmony with their electorate and most especially spring up local and external funds to sponsor development projects.

According to some participants, if mayors effectively apply the knowledge gained from the training, it will help accelerate the process of decentralization that started in Cameroon some decades ago.
