51 student registrars sworn into office

51 student clerks of the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) have taken an oath of honesty, probity and integrity towards the promotion of good performance and integration in their duties. The ceremony was held on Thursday April 2 at the Court of First Instance Ekounou in Yaounde.

This event was chaired by Judge Hermenegilde Mengang. Each student swore by making this declaration: "I swear and promise to portray good behaviour and perform my duties faithfully, to conduct myself in all circumstances worthy of a trainee clerk ".

Hermenegilde Mengang invited the elected students to be more diligent in their students clerks position. "You're not clerks and you are not even about to be, but you're about to become one, you just come in pre-employment training at the Ministry of Justice.

Your oath is expressed by the fact that you will have to handle the procedural records and be aware of the information contained herein. Therefore, you are required to keep a strict professional secrecy. Disclosure of this secret could lead to disciplinary action or prosecution," the Attorney General asserted.

In his indictments, he told the pupils that the oath is an affirmation of the sincere promise and commitment to adequately perform their duties. "You are the indispensable collaborators of judges. So you will have to do everything to bring your support to the work of justice.

It follows the guiding principles that should govern your action. You must cultivate during your training, moral qualities of honesty, probity and integrity, "said the Attorney General.

The course, which ends next year, will allow them to understand the pros and cons of their disciplines.
