8 candidates defend PhD in Maroua University

Eight candidates recently defended their Ph D in the University of Maroua in a defense which took place from 1 to 6 February.

They presented theses in two units of doctoral training namely: language, literature and science of language and Sciences of man and society. This brought the number of doctors who supported their thesis in these training units in Maroua to 15 since its inception.

To examine and evaluate the work were imminent professors from the said institution, including Pr Edward Ako Oben, also Rector of the University of Maroua, who was assisted by others who came from universities of Dchang, Yaoundé I and especially the Niger and Chad.

For the Rector of the University of Maroua, these juries composed of high-calibre teachers demonstrating the concern of his institution to train persons able to compete anywhere in the world.

In the same sense, officials say that special emphasis was placed on doctoral training because the latter have the duty to impart knowledge to future teachers of high schools and colleges who are in charge of forming the youth of Cameroon.
