852 soldiers undergo anti-terrorism tactics training

The closing of this training session dubbed infantry commando training session took place at Salak.

The base of the first Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) Salak, 15km from Maroua served as a framework for the closing ceremony of the 6th session of the technical aptitude certificate n° 2 dubbed infantry commando.

This internship began in August 2014 at Maroua and Man'o War Bay in the Southwest with 865 student NCOs from the BIR. The presidential guard and the general staff of the army also partook in this training session.

At Man'o War Bay, students were trained on anti-terrorism and commando methods. At Maroua, the focus was on tactics, technique and behavior. At the end of 5 months training session, 6 failures were recorded against 859 hits including 7 posthumously. The success rate stood at 99.39% with a general average of 12.73 per cent.

The General of the division, Philippe Mpay, Commander of the schools and joint training centres and colonel Bouba Dobekréo, General Coordinator of BIR made a trip to Maroua to participate in the event. At the end of the pure military ceremony closing with a military parade, the commandos received training on infantry commando CAT2.

Despite the joy of having completed successfully after months of endurance, they set aside some time to honour comrades who had fallen on the field. A good number of them have already been mobilised to the border between Cameroon and Nigeria to combat the jihadists of the Boko Haram sect.
