Actis to invest 170 billion over 5 years

The company Actis, which took over from the Cameroon national electricity company, announced an investment of 170 billion CFA FRANCS over five years to ensure the continuity of the public service sector.

This announcement occurred at the point where the Director-general of the representation of the British investment fund, Joël Nana Kontchou, took service in the economic metropolis, Douala.

75 billion CFA FRANCS of this envelope will be devoted to the improvement of the quality of service, regarded as "a priority" while 47 billion CFA FRANCS will go to production, 30 billion CFA FRANCS to commercial activities and the rest to the transport network.

Well before its official entry into service, Actis has benefited from a guarantee of 180 million dollars from the multilateral guarantee agency (MIGA), a subsidiary of the World Bank investments.

In the aftermath, an envelope of $ 145.7 million was awarded by the same institution for 20 years, to the title of ownership at gaz de Kribi (South) and heavy fuel oil power plants at Dibamba (Littoral).
