The celebration of the 9th edition of the African Youth Day this 2015 focused on challenging youths to take hold of the 2063 Agenda.

The 2063 Agenda is a mechanism put in place by the African Union to realize economic emergence in Africa by 2063.

The Agenda was adopted in 2013 during the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the African Union.

Seven key points earmarked in the agenda pertaining to the emergence of Africa are: to see a developed Africa which is more inclusive; sustainable; more secured; good governance and democracy; the respect of human rights; the role of law and justice; respect of its culture and values.

Celebrations in Cameroon took place at the conference hall of the Ministry of Youths and Civic Education presided by the Inspector General at the Ministry of Youths in the presence of intellectuals, members of the diplomatic corps youth representatives.

Several presentations geared on sensitizing Cameroonian youths to take hold of the 2063 agenda were put in place.

Pertaining to this, the President of the Cameroon National Youth Council Jean Marc Afesi Mbafor laid emphasis on the not so good communication habits of most Cameroonian Youths. To him youths can be well informed if they make a better use of the social media, internet, radio, tv and newspapers.
