Aftermath of 30th September twin elections: Fru Ndi to attend SDF Kumba “Thank You” Rally

True to their slogan of Power to the People, the SDF in Kumba would come Saturday April 19, 2014 organised a joint rally of all its militants and sympathisers to say thank you for voting that party to power in the Kumba I, II and III Councils and for the lone Kumba parliamentary constituency in the September 30, 2013 municipal and parliamentary elections.

The rally this reporter gathered will be graced by the presence of the National Chairman of the SDF Ni John Fru Ndi and other top notchers of that party. This reporter further gathered that the joint rally that would be addressed by the three SDF Mayors, Abel Ndoh Ebako, Ndobegang Forcha Martin and John Kona Makia, respectively of Kumba I, Kumba II and Kumba III would also provide a conducive atmosphere for the SDF National Chairman to reconcile with the Mayor of Kumba II Forcha Ndobegang Martin, who was subsequently dismissed by the National Electoral Committee (NEC) of the SDF for refusing to step-down in favour of Fru Ndi’s handpicked candidate Asapngu Ferdinand for the election of the Mayor of Kumba II council.

This reporter further gathered that the thank you rally would first of all be held in a central location and that after that the militants and their sympathizers would converge in their various council areas for indept discussions with their various Mayors.

This reporter further gathered that, Fru Ndi would also try to reconcile Ndobegang and Asapngu. While installing the three SDF mayors after the elections, the SDO for Meme made it clear that the time for party politics was over and that the three councils would be run in line with government text on councils and not on SDF party principles. Given that all administrators in Cameroon are CPDM sympathisers, it is doubtful where the Meme administration, even if invited would attend the SDF thank you rally.
