Agro Pastoral show sets pace for Christmas festivities

The Centre Regional Delegation of Agriculture and Livestock has organised the Central Regional Mini Agro pastoral show at the esplanade of the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium.

The products on exhibition at the two-day show which ended on 23rd December 2014 included agricultural and livestock produce of farmers of the Centre region.

The Minister Delegate in charge of Agriculture, Clementine Ananga Messina launched the exhibition which brought together close to 150 farmers from all the ten divisions of the Region.

Officials at the Ministry of Agriculture and those from Livestock said the show was organised to enable citizens of Yaounde and its environs to buy food at subsidized prices, ahead of the festive period.

Some 300 participants exhibited their products at the sixth edition Central Regional Mini Agro pastoral show. The exhibitors said the show serves as opportunity to sale directly to consumer sales and to share best practices with other farmers.

The agric show provided an ideal forum for farmers to present their challenges to experts and officials, some of which include insufficient finances and poor roads linking the farming zones.

Some significant prizes were handed over to some farmers for their expertise and outstanding production.
