Algeria, Cameroon sign MoU in vocational training

Algeria and Cameroon signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of vocational training and education on Tuesday in Algiers.

Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Mohamed Mebarki and the Cameroonian Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Zacharie Perevet signed the document.

Mebarki said that the partnership program with Cameroon will revolve around three major aspects, which will help to design and develop methodologies and programs of vocational education and training and enhance skills of trainers and managers of vocational training institutions.

The MoU also provides for senior technicians training session for the benefit of trainees in vocational training.

According to the minister, these actions "must be reinforced" by a twinning program between training institutions of both countries.

"The signing of this memorandum of understanding constitutes the legal foundation of our future partnership for diversification and expansion of our bilateral cooperation in the field of vocational training and education," stressed.

He also affirmed the importance of strengthening and expanding this cooperation in areas related to the enhancement of human resources, "to fully meet the aspirations of the two peoples and exploit the potential of the two countries."

"We have a common and complementary approach with Cameroon in terms of South-South cooperation," he assured.

For his part, the Cameroonian official said, "the development of human resources is the foundation for growth and economic development as it improves productivity."

"Cameroon may, with the help of Algeria, develop human resources, strongly demanded by the labor market," he added.
