Armand Lemougouck and three other officers were found guilty of embezzling more than 148 million Thursday at the special criminal court.
On Thursday at the special criminal court (CHT), Armand Lemougouck, former regional collector was found guilty of embezzlement of public funds and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
He was noted for outstaying his position after his retirement. Prior to his retirement he was involved in the acquisition and conservation of thumbnails in his office. Maxime Belinga, former controller also faced similar sanction.
Teyo Kamga and Simon Tamen Nana, the other tax officials, who was also found guilty have also been sentenced to 10 years 'imprisonment. They will have besides the jail term, payment of damages and interest to the Ministry of Finance (148,400,000 F) and pay fine of over 7 million.
Other individuals charged in this case are Dieudonné Dieudonné Mboamiongo, Douglas Gérard Biaga and Sylvestre Zoa Tchoungui but were found not guilty.
It should be recalled that the accused were prosecuted for embezzling between 2012 and 2013, the regional Centre tax Centre II de Tsinga in Yaoundé, auto thumbnails of the 2,000 F haircuts; 15,000 F; 25,000 F; 50,000 and 100,000 F.
