Arsel staff fight management

Staff members of the Electricity Regulation Agency (Arsel) are up in arms against their general manager over what they described as “wasteful expenditures” by the organization.

Report says since the appointment of Jean-Pierre Kedi in 2010 as Arsel boss, the agency has largely spent its funds on extraneous activities rather than addressing challenges bedeviling the electricity suppliers.

The development, sources say, has infuriated a section of the workers who are bent on ensuring the removal of Mr. Kedi’s led management.

“…Because of the raging impasse, workers even refused to participate in last year’s May Day parade… there are deep seated issues which are begging for immediate remedy,” the source stressed in a private conversation with this reporter.

The source added: “So we are seizing this opportunity to call on the relevant authority to take action to salvage the ailing state agency before matters get out of hand”.
