Attack against Charlie Hebdo: a kind of Sept. 11 - Haman Mana

In an editorial, the editor of the daily Le Jour has called on journalists not to be shaken.

In the aftermath of the massacre of the satirical French newspaper Charlie Hebdo, the Director of publication of the Cameroonian daily Le Jour signed an editorial dedicated to the sad event.

Haman Mana was keen to pay tribute to colleagues who dropped the pen in such an unfortunate manner. "These men, because of their position on Islamist extremism, were massacred. But they have not bent the spine, continuing to crunch through humour, weekly, satire and extremism. For him, the massacre at Paris can be "likened to that of September 11".

Haman Mana explained that as those of Charlie Hebdo, the other journalists will now be 'targets of choice', where they will not simply be seen as the problem.

For this reason, the former editor of Mutations called his colleagues not to lower their arms. "In such circumstances, the temptation is great to retreat.

We say loosely, "after all, this is not our business". thus move on to pursue our mission (inform, educate, criticize, ensure social reliance), wrote Haman Mana.

Columnist of the day laments, referring to Charlie Hebdo, as the disappearance of "a whole generation of talented cartoonists, who put their pen at the service of freedom.
