Authorities poised to combat urban disorder in Douala

Texaco airport area and carrefour Ndokoti were the main points of Douala visited by the members of the body to combat urban disorder in Douala.

Texaco airport had become the place of parking of many jumbo jets and the prefect of the Wouri, Naseri Paul Bea, had asked that these places be freed in the shortest time. For this purpose, instructions were given to fight against this urban disorder.

Fatal traffic accidents became frequent and yesterday precisely, a resident met the authorities and requested the prefect for a quick solution. After the drama of repeated accidents, he added: "all roads in the area are damaged because of trucks. It is the hideout of bandits; it is a strong place of aggression.

At Ndokoti, the panel of fight against urban disorder said fines for violations will be installed on 24 October. The Chairman of the body met with traders explaining what will be done soon.

Naseri Paul Bea welcomed the work already done so far on the ground. Since the beginning of the tour, 50% of the instructions have been complied with.
