BEPHA health insurance educates the public on their package

As indicated earlier, registering members, registration fees and annual contribution payment for BEPHA membership is done at the BEPHA Diocesan head offices and branch offices situated in the different BEPHA partner health units or at any recognized BEPHA Mobilizer or registration agent in the field.

You can always call the BEPHA Diocesan offices in any of the dioceses for information.

Before entering the process of registering, you will be enlightened and informed by BEPHA staff on all aspects of BEPHA and the advantages, duties and implications of the membership of BEPHA. A checklist will be provided to facilitate the process of information and enlightenment.

If you fully agree to all aspects of membership, the process of registration can be established. The first step is to fill in an application form for adherence.

In order to register, you must produce the following:

-A photocopy of your national identity card/birth certificate and those you want to register as your dependents

-If you want to register as a family, apart from you, a minimum of three dependents must be registered alongside

-Provide two colored recent passport size photographs each for you and for the dependants to be registered

-Money for registration fee (1,000frs)

-Money for the annual contribution in order to be covered by BEPHA (after a waiting period ; 4000frs x 4 = 16,000frs)

-Your name will be written in the beneficiaries booklet with all the necessary information (date of birth, ID card number etc), a photocopy of the identity documents are stapled to your follow up form, the latter passport are affixed on the follow-up form and filed.

The BEPHA scheme is a scheme meant to assure that we all have affordable health care when we fall sick. It is meant to encourage us to go to the hospital before we get sick.

It is not a scheme only for sick people. If it were, foolish and fraudulent people would wait and register in the scheme only when they are sick and it may be late.

To check fraudsters who would want to register in the scheme only when they are sick and as such frustrate the good intentions of the promoters, there is a waiting period after a member pays his registration and annual contribution.

This is a period during which a BEPHA adherent is not entitled to any health benefits even if annual contributions and all other requirements are completed.

The period is one month for consultation, one month for hospitalization, six months for delivery and six months for surgical operations.
