After the building of some Schools hospitals and government offices the Government embarked on building of fishermen's village at Isangele and four Telecommunications pylons in four other villages in the Bakassi Peninsula.

The Defense Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Rene Claude Meka who toured the project sites of the Bakassi Peninsula expressed his joy of seeing the project almost complete, and instructed the Military Engineering Corps to speed up work so to realize the project.

The telecoms pylons is actually 75m long each designated for Bamusso, Jabane, Riote and Akwa villages of the Bakassi Peninsula.

The Defense Chief of Staff who assessed the progress made so far at the project site, saluted the engineering corps for executing three quarters of the project, and extended the Head of State’s word of encouragement to the Soldiers for their loyalty towards Cameroon’s Development process.

The director of the execution Agency, the Military Engineering Corps Colonel Jackson Kamngeng also attested that construction works are well on force despite the many difficulties.

The Commander of the Second Combined Military Region in chief Major General Sali Mohammadou, as well as some top military officials of the Region were also part of the inspection team.

The project is part of President Biya’s visions to provide a better living condition to Cameroonians of the Bakassi Peninsula.
