Latest report from Balikumbat Subdivision, Ngoketunja Division states that violence has erupted again between the people of Baligansin and Bamumbit over a piece of disputed land between the two villages.
Soldiers have been deployed to these two warring villages and in other parts of the subdivision in a bid to maintain peace and security of goods and persons.
One person was killed and several others injured in November, when both communities clashed over the said piece of land.
Northwest Governor lele L’Afrique visited the area on November 29 to calm tempers and proposed solutions to the conflict. This seems to have gone unheeded as the two villages picked up arms once again on Saturday December 26, 2014.
Bamenda Online reporter in Balikumbat said the latest spate of violence was sparked by an indigene of another neighbouring village that joined the people of Baligansin to provoke the people of Bamukumbit.
One person according to unconfirmed reports was killed over the weekend.
