Bambalang Muslim leader “missing”

The president of the Bambalang Muslim community (Bambalang Islamic Council) in Ngoketunjia Division of the Northwest Region has not been seen since Friday 26th February, 2016. Malam Monino Tata is said to have been taken away by some unknown persons from his Bambalang residence.

Though the local Muslim community say he was taken away by the police no one has confirmed his where about. Taken alongside some of his property, the said Muslim leader according to locals has not had food from his family and if not from “his kidnappers “then he has not eaten.

According to a letter title “information and appeal for intervention’ sent to the Senior Divisional Officer SDO for Ngoketunjia on the 27th of February 2016, signed by the main Imam of the Bambalang central Mosque on behalf of the Muslim community, the “missing” Imam was carted away after Friday prayers from his home after a serious search.

Since then the community say they have not heard from him and no police service is saying anything about his arrest.

As at the time of this report, the matter is already raising durst amongst the Muslim community in Bambalang and beyond and needs watering.
