Members of the Water Management Committee in charge of collection, treatment and distribution of water at the Bamenda I Council area and the entire Bamendankwe have been installed.
The members of the Committee were recently installed in a ceremony presided at by the Divisional Officer for Bamenda I, Ndong Misse.
Presenting members of the Committee to the DO, the 1st Deputy Mayor of Bamenda I Council, Denis Sambong Ngwa, warned the Chairman of the Water Management Committee, Clement Fongang, and his team that; no error in handling water crisis will be tolerated.
The Deputy Mayor reminded the Committee members that their mandate will expire in two years.
“If this Committee fails in its mission of providing portable water to the population of Bamenda I, it will be dissolved,” Sambong Ngwa stated.
The Chair of the Water Management Committee assured the population that his team will work hard to rehabilitate the Bamendankwe water scheme.
“I am certain that the Council will lend us their total support now that the administration has legalised our existence,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, the DO for Bamenda I, Ndong Misse, expressed satisfaction with the Bamenda I Council, for not only extending electricity and constructing roads in the Council area for the few months in office, but also for providing water, which, he said, is life to the population.
