Bamenda II Council votes 940 M for 2015

The Bamenda II council will run on a budget of 940 million FCFA in 2015, an increase of 120 million in absolute, 12.77% in relative terms from that of 2014 which stood at 820 million.

That amount was adopted by councilors of that municipality on Wednesday December 10, 2014 during a council budgetary session at the chambers of the former Bamenda City Council at Ntarikon.

According to the Mayor, Balick Awah Fedelis, priority project for the council will be the grading of roads, extension of pipe borne water and the transfer of the council to its permanent site at Bengfibie. He called on the councilors and collaborators of the council to work hard towards achieving the budget.

Mr. Ndumbe Dika Jean Pierre, 1st Assistant SDO for Mezam, representing Mezam SDO called on the mayor and his team to collaborate with other related services and especially the forces of law and order to achieve their target. He praised the Bamenda II council for its numerous achievements in 2014 and promised to channel their worries to higher quarters.

Amongst the project realized in 2014, the council was able to extend a three phase electricity line and pipe borne water to the new council site at Bengfibie, benefitting the thousands of residents on its path, graded numerous roads in Mankon, Chomba, Nsongwa and Mbatu, constructed culverts, classrooms and bridges in various neighbourhoods, supply benches and financial aid to schools and associations, and the construction of a monument for the late fons of Mbatu and Nsongwa.

The Bamenda III council will be the next to hold its budgetary session on Friday 12 December. The Bali Council on its part will hold its third ordinary session for 2014 Tuesday December 16, 2014. According to the mayor, Ajong Ngoh Sylvanus Dobgima, the session will amongst other issues vote the budget for Bali Municipality for 2015, evaluate and examine various reports for 2014.

The session kicks of at 10 am and will be attended by Mezam SDO Nguelle Nguelle Felix. Still in a related story, the Tubah and Bali councils will be holding their Mini agro-pastoral shows Friday and Saturday December 12 and 13.
