Bamenda - Soldier killed, 40 Wounded in Sabga Accident

A military truck from Bamenda, transporting military men for a regular shooting exercise in the neigbhourhood of the city suffered an accident on the Sabga hill, Tubah Sub-division on July 24, 2013, leaving one soldier dead on the spot and some 40 others injured.

As at Press time, the wounded were receiving treatment at the Bamenda regional and Military hospitals. On-the-spot at the Regional hospital, the Director, Dr Charles Awasum told Cameroon Tribune that the patients are in a stable condition but for some five who were about to be evacuated to Douala for scanning and subsequent treatment.

The Permanent Secretary in the North West Governor's Office, Monono Wolua was in the hospital on Wednesday to size up the situation and hailed the Director and Medical team for marvelous work done through First Aid and emergency assistance when the wounded soldiers were rushed to the hospital facility.
