Security forces in Douala have arrested a suspect with an automatic pistol. Priestly Neba was picked up in the night of Wednesday in Bonaberi after having perpetrated a hold up.
Priestly Neba (19), a former detainee of the Douala New Bell Prison, was arrested after he and his colleagues in crime had orchestrated a robbery operation using masks and carrying a bag. Security forces of the Rapid Intervention Unit on routine patrol chased the suspect as he tried to run away. A search of his bag after his arrest revealed a hammer, a screwdriver and an automatic pistol, a charger and five bullets.
Asked about the origin of the gun, Priestly Neba declared that he stole it from the residence of a certain Thomas Tasse in Bonaberi. The ESIR team then went to the residence of the victim who declared that apart from his automatic gun of mark "Tanfoglio", the armed robbers also took away the sum of FCFA 400.000, his two labour medals and jewellery belonging to his wife. The suspect was presented to the State Counsel of the Military Tribunal for armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
