A Central African Government delegation has been sent to Yaoundé to discuss with the Cameroonian authorities, the kidnapping of a Polish missionary who was residing in Baboua, the extreme west of the Central African Republic, announced the Prime Minister on Thursday, October 6, 2014.
According to the Polish branch of the Pontifical Missionary works, Father Mateusz Dziedzic who is the priest of the Polish diocese of Tarnów (South East), was abducted by armed men who indicated they do not want a ransom, but sought to exchange him for one of their leaders detained in Cameroon.
Information from the Polish foreign Ministry stated that, the kidnappers were men of the Central African rebel leader, Abdoulaye Miskine and that the kidnapped missionary is "well treated".
"The Central African Government is very concerned about this situation," said the Prime Minister Mahamat Kamoun before the national transition Council (CNT).
"And since it is on the border with Cameroon that the facts have unfolded, a delegation comprising the Minister of Defense, Deputy Chief of staff and a framework of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, came to Cameroon to discuss with the Cameroonian authorities to find a solution", he added.
Miskine was a former ally of the rebellion of the Seleka who was arrested last year at the border between Cameroon and the Central African Republic, and has since then been detained in Cameroon. His group, the Democratic Front for the Central African People (FDPC) orchestrated the kidnapping to get him released.
