President Paul Biya has appointed the daughter of Former President Amadou Ahidjo, Aminatou Ahidjo, Board Chair of the Yaounde Conference Centre. The appointment is contained in a release signed yesterday and broadcast over CRTV.
Many an observer has seen the appointment as a form of compensation for Aminatou’s support of Biya and his party during the last Presidential election.
Prior to the 2011 presidential election, Aminatou join the CPDM and strongly campaigned for Biya, against the wish of her family, sources said.
It is alleged that her mother was so upset with her decision to campaign for Biya that at one point she almost disown her.
