Biya deserves 2015 Nobel Peace Prize - Lekoua

In a few hours into the New Year, the CEO of X - Net Phone and coffee platinum, Benjamin Lekoua granted an interview to Culturebene in 2014.

Lekoua shared with us his ups and downs in business and used the opportunity to praise the President of the Republic.

Q; In a few hours to 2015, if there was a balance to be made between what worked and what did not work; what would you say?

A: I will first of all heave a sigh of relief because as 2015 opens its doors, it opens a lot of expectations; Hope for peace and stability in the country, and hope for a total eradication of the Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram.

It is also my hope that, it will not lose more soldiers in war with the Boko Haram. We are all young, proud to defend our country both economically and militarily.

This is good report for me, to see Cameroonian army push back the bandits.

Regarding the X - Net Phone family, I would say that 2014 was not good at all. We have had keen competition from foreign brands, and interestingly, our own brothers invested in these foreign brands.

I thank God because we always remain standing. We will continue with our work, and I would like to entreat everyone to help develop Cameroon and Africa. In a general sense, we need to promote our own brands. That is why we cannot afford to give up today.

Q: Have there also been any positive outcome in 2014?

A: Yes, it's true. I got there and it was a successful year too. This was the year in which the Head of State, Paul Biya nominated the X - Net Phone JAM as the best phone during its fiftieth anniversary.

SE Martin Belinga Eboutou translated to us the congratulatory message of the Head of State who appreciate what we young people are into. This is very encouraging, and we say thank you to the President of the Republic while asking him to support us even more because we need it.

X -Net Phone is a company that validly represents Cameroon abroad in terms of intellectuals. Papa supports this initiative because it emanates from the young mind and its 100% Cameroonian. He actually dared the youth to be creative, set targets and work to achieve their set goals.

Today, the X- Net Phone is an existing brand which is also a foreign exchange earner for Cameroon besides Cocoa, Coffee, Hevea, Banana. It has contributed to job creation as well.

Q: You refer constantly to the President. Why is that?

A: This is necessary because we must recognize that he is the only president in the world who has demonstrated diplomacy and strategy for the resolution of a border dispute at Bakassi while maintaining a healthy climate between the two countries; Cameroon and Nigeria.

In short, this is to tell you that in 2015, President Paul Biya deserves the Nobel Peace Prize because he fought for peace between the Cameroonian and Nigerian brothers without habouring hatred.

And his speech to the nation just hours into the new year moved me deeply, especially the part he stated; “No country in the world develops without peace”.
