President Paul Biya held a state reception with the 27 hostages freed by the Boko Haram sect among them the Chinese construction workers and the wife of Vice Prime Minister Amadou Ali.

President Biya showered praises on the Cameroon military for the bravery they have demonstrated fighting against Boko Haram.

The Cameroon Chief Executive wished the Chinese a safe return to their home country.

For his part, the Chinese ambassador to Yaounde thanked President Biya for his role in releasing the hostages.
