Biya ‘ignores’ victims of Far North bombings

The President of the Republic has addressed a message of condolences to his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan following the recent terrorist attacks in Ankara. In a message read over the national radio and published on the Presidency website, the State Head says he ” learned with the emotion of the high number of victims and injured, following the recent terrorist attacks in the province of Diyarbakir in Ankara. ”

In the subsequent correspondence, President Biya addresses his Turkish colleague” and the families of the victims and to the Turkish nation,” his “sincere condolences” and wished “speedy recovery to the injured.”
Without a doubt the people of the Far North of Cameroon who were victims of yet another attack last Friday that killed at least twenty people at weekly market would have loved and expected to receive these comforting words too from their President.

No member of the government has travelled to the Far North to comfort these people and the victims. Yet the CPDM regime has dignitaries from the affected area. The elites of the region and the personalities of the country seem rather concerned about offering motions of support and messages calling for an early presidential election in Cameroon.
