Biya's 32 years anniversary: Tit bits of celebration in the country

The militants of the Cameroon People's Democratic Party, CPDM this Thursday 6th November2014 celebrated 32years of their party's chair, Paul Biya's ascension into power.

The commemoration of 32 years of Biya’s rule celebrated under the banner “All behind President Biya in the fight against insecurity” was an opportunity for CPDM militants and well-wishers in the ten regions of Cameroon to salute to their Chairman’s achievements in various domains.

In Yaounde, rallies and festivities were organized, a major hightlight of the many activities was a marathon crowned President Biya’s race.

The marathon as organized under the auspices of the Secretary General of the CPDM Jean Nkuete, who handed down the trophy to the winner, Eric Mbatcha.

In Yaounde VI, CPDM militants and their section President, Evini Avang staged a dance with the peace plant to support the Head of State in his drive to combat insecurity, safeguard national sovereignty, preserve peace and consolidate national unity.

In other localities in the centre militants dressed in party regalia joined their peers all over the national territory in songs, musics, dances and tributes as way of appreciating and supporting their CPDM leader.

In the evening, a gala was organized in the Yaounde Conference Center to conclude the nationwide celebrations. Chaired by the CPDM Central Committee Secretary General Jean Nkuete and attended by Senate President, Marcel Niat Njefenji, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Cabinet Ministers and senior party officials, the gala saw sing names in music in Cameroon like Richard King, Oku juju dance group, Zangalewa group amongst others mount the rostrum.

In the Northwest region all the CPDM Section Presidents mobilized their militants in their resepective localities to support president Biya’s government. At the Bamenda Congress Hall, Minister Atanga Nji Paul chaired the celebration recounting Biya’s achievements in 32 years, he then pleaded with the militants to join in the national mobilisation to fight insecurity and contain the Ebola virus.

Still in Bamenda but in Kumbo, Bui Division supporters celebrated in pomp and pageantry.

They demanded that the Medical Faculty of the University of Bamenda be located in the area in order to decongest the University.

Similar celebrations were witnessed in the three northern regions of the country. In the Mayo Danay East and South constituencies celebrations were chaired by Monouna Fotso, Secretary General in the Ministry of Secondary Education. He who insisted that government is resolved to the fight against all forms of terrorists attacks.

In the south region, the four sub-centers of the CPDM jammed the Mveyle Hall to capacity in saluting the exceptional leadership qualities of their party chair during the past 32 years, in speeches and motions of support.

The date 6th November is reminiscent of President Paul Biya’s ascension to the helm of the country after the resignation of Amadou Ahidjo.
