Biya suffering from Cardiac and Prostate Cancer?

French newspaper, Le Monde is reporting that President Biya is currently under medical attention in a Swiss hospital where he has been diagnosed of cardiac problems and prostate cancer.

The article which was published on the newspaper’s website on Friday, March 13 states that it is the president’s ill health that took him out of the country on March 1.

The report says Biya’s wife, Chantal is also currently being admitted in a French hospital where she is battling to retain her cervix which was operated upon two years behind. Going by the newspaper, Chantal’s cervix was operated upon in a US hospital in 2013 but is still reportedly giving her hard times. The US operation, the report states kept the First Lady out of the country for several months.

The French daily reports that all Cameroonian medics and paramedics working at the Geneva University Hospital, HUG, the hospital where Biya is admitted were granted holidays shortly before the president’s arrival.

Le Monde reports that a communiqué by the director of civil cabinet of the president which announced the presidential couple’s departure from the country did not state the exact destination of their trip. It merely stated that the presidential couple was travelling to Europe for a private visit.

Le Monde, observes that Biya who is 82 years old has spent 33 of those years as president of Cameroon.

Paul Biya is expected to move to France after he would have been discharged from the hospital where he and his spouse would meet at their Yvelines private residence in Paris, reports the newspaper.

The report also states that Issa Tchiroma, communication minister and government’s spokesperson would certainly mount the rostrum any moment from now to swing and spin in a bid to denounce the facts contained in the article. Biya’s health, Le Monde reports remains a taboo topic in Cameroon.
