Boko Haram collateral damage in Maroua

Some social and economic activities in Maroua have been brought to a stand-still due to the security situation in the Far North caused by incessant attacks from the Islamist sect Boko Haram.

To bring the situation under control, government has reinforced security throughout the three northern regions through the appointment of Commanders within some military units in strategic positions.

The Minister Delegate at the presidency in charge of Defence, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o has just rounded-off the series of installation of these officials appointed by a presidential text of 14th August, 2014.

On each occasion, Minister Mebe Ngo'o urged the newly installed to use their rich military experiences to wipe out the Boko Haram phenomenon in their respective area of Command.

He also called on the population to collaborate with security officials by providing viable intelligence so the islamist sect should have no place to hide in Cameroon
