The Cameroon Boys’ Scout Movement in the Centre Region on November 22, 2015, launched its 2015/2016 year in Yaounde.

Some 700 members of the Cameroon Boys’ Scout Movement in the Centre Region have begun the 2015/2016 season, committing to continue to serve humanity with renewed vigour. Speaking at the launch in Government Bilingual High School, Nkol-Eton, Yaounde, on November 22, 2015, the Commissioner for Centre Region, Akela Théophile Emmanuel, recalled the words of the founder of the movement, Lord Robert Stephenson Smith Baden Powell, who stressed the need to leave the world a better place.

Akela Théophile said the beginning of the new season was a moment to relive the joy and challenges of the past year and also sell the vision of the movement to more young people. Divided into various age groups, the Cameroon Boys Scout Movement is a not-for-profit values-based youth development organisation. It provides a programme for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participatory citizenship and develops personal fitness. It also organises weekly meetings, rallies, outings, excursions, patrols, jamborees and community development activities.
