Bright Future for Children in Distress

A two-day workshop to validate the document fixing modalities for the creation and functioning of centres for the care of children in distress (CAED) and ended in Yaounde on Friday June 1.

Organised by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the event brought together officials of the Yaounde VI Subdivision, representatives of international organisations and representatives of private centres in charge of caring for children. Speaking during the opening on Thursday May 31, the Minister of Social Affairs Catharine Bakang Mbock said the wellbeing and follow up of children especially those in distress is a major priority of government.

She urged called on participants to work hand-in-glove in order to come out with a reference document for the functioning of public and private institutions for the care of children in distress.
