A bulldozer including other devices in the Yabassi council, have disappeared without a trace and have not been found since 2010. Apparently, it could have been hijacked by one of the members but nobody has so far been called to account for its disappearance.
Today, the Town Hall of Yabassi in the Nkam have to paid not less than nine million for the renting of a bulldozer whenever it undertakes road maintenance . However, this commune used to boast of a Fiat Allix trademark bulldozer.
These machines acquired several years which previously allowed them to scrape the roads or create other pathways. The son of the Department rented it for their personal work, thus increasing the revenues of the Town Hall. Four years ago, the craft had simply disappeared from the City Hall.
"When I took up the work at the Town Hall of Yabassi in October 2013, I noticed on the face of the document left by my predecessor that the Town Hall has a clamshell, motorcycles among others and a bulldozer of mark Fiat Allis.
But after a thorough check, my colleagues and I found no trace of the bulldozer," recalled Jacques Maboula Mboya, new mayor of Yabassi, elected following the September 30, 2013 twin elections.
To get to the bottom, the new boss of the commune informed the Presidency of the Republic and the Commission national anti-corruption by correspondence. He explained in his letter the situation at the council, noting the absence of the tractor.
Some time after, the current Mayor of Yabassi was informed of the visit of the national anti-corruption Commission for investigation and confrontation between him and the Mayor. "I had the honour to lead this mission which followed denunciations received by the Conac in the company of some of my colleagues on-site at Yabassi", recalled the former Minister Simon Bolivar Njami Nwandi, Member of the Conac.
The former Mayor Kwedi Batake Samuel désiré acknowledged that upon his arrival at the City Hall of Yabassi in 2007, this municipality had Fiat Allis brand bulldozer, which would have developed a break down and would be in an unrecoverable state somewhere but was not able to say exactly where the bulldozer is.
This is not the first time that the Town Hall of Yabassi has lost this tractor. More than ten years ago, Mbeleck Emile Daniel, who took charge in 1996, decided to sell the bulldozer without obtaining the approval of the City Council.
The tractor worth tens of millions was sold for 2,500,000 F cfa to a businessman residing in Nkongsamba.
In 2002, Jean Edouard Benga, who succeeded him at the head of the town hall stopped this transaction and was successful.
