Candidates participating in the 17th professorial examination of the African and Malagasy Council of Higher Education (CAMES) have entered the second segment of their exam.
This segment entitled “Lesson” involves the candidate dishing out a 45-minute lecture on a particular topic.
According to a candidate from Burkina Faso, Dr Bamba Sanata Pakatogo, those involved in the second test will take part in a raffle draw determining their topic.
After getting a topic, candidates will be given five hours to prepare their 45-minute lesson to be presented to the members of jury.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Prof Ebana Mvogo Come revealed that the third and final test will involve a practical exam during which the candidate will examine a patient and explain his diagnosis before the jury.
This, Prof Ebana Mvogo notes is the final step towards succeeding in the CAMES examination.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of CAMES, Bernard Mbatchi disclosed that four candidates were eliminated at the end of the first test which involved candidates’ presentation of scientific works.
The CAMES professorial exam which began on 3rd November 2014 is schedule d to run till 10th November with the release of results the day after.
