CEMAC sub regional integration begins in 2015

Citizens of all member countries of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central African States CEMAC will, from the 1st January 2015, travel across borders of member countries without obtaining visas.

The decision was arrived at during an extraordinary summit of leaders of CEMAC member states organized in Libreville Gabon.

The summit was presided over by CEMAC’s current chairperson, Ali Bongo Ondimba.

The Heads of state also agreed to implement a harmonized strategy in the fight against illegal medicine and to facilitate the implantation of pharmaceutical companies within countries of the region.

The resolutions of the summit meeting has been saluted by many political pundits and considered as a major step in reinforcing regional integration amongst CEMAC member states.

President Paul Biya was represented during the summit by Prime Minister Philemon Yang.
