CMR Friends of Israel commemorate 1938-1945 Genocide

A group of sympathizers known as Cameroonian Friends of Israel gathered on 27th January 2015 to commemorate the horrific massacre of six million Jews in Germany more than 70years ago by Adolf Hitler.

The over 2 hours event which kicked off at Beth-Shalom Ti-ti Guarage in Yaounde, gathered more than 30 sympathisers from Cameroon and Gabon to commemorate the 1938-45 incident that has left an indelible mark in the hearts of many.

The event which was marked by a prayer session of peace and blessings for Israel was organised thanks to the UN’s initiatives in 2005 for setting apart 27th January as an International Day for commemorating the Jewish Holocaust.

Participants were also sensitised through lectures on a video projector and a panel discussion on the importance of the Jewish history to the world pertaining to the call of Abraham according to Genesis 12:1-3. They were also updated on the present situation of Israel and how to pray for her.

The Cameroonian friends of Israel is a non-governmental organization that was created in 2003 by some Cameroonians, with the purpose of praying for Israel and carrying out philanthropic activities to assist the underprivileged in Israel.

The ceremony which was presided by the organisation’s president, Babola Richard, ended with the sharing of a common meal and drink by participants.
