CONAC Creates Transparency Units for September 30 Polls

"As part of measures put in place by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (CONAC) to combat corruption and ensure transparency in the Legislative and Municipal elections of Monday, September 30, 2013, a Special Unit has been set up to collect, centralize and analyse denunciations of acts of corruption from all over the national territory for rapid intervention.

Members of the Unit, made up essentially of some senior staff of the Commission, work round the clock.

They have been assigned to specific zones and can be reached using the following telephone contacts:

77 48 81 80 for the Centre and East Regions;

79 12 57 24 for the Littoral, South and Adamawa Regions;

77 59 75 93 for the Extreme North and North Regions;

and 99 95 07 31 for the North West, South West and West Regions.

Meanwhile, complaints from all over the country can also be received on the numbers: 22 20 37 27 and 22 20 37 32.

The Chairman of CONAC enjoins all stakeholders of the electoral process to make good use of this service put at their disposal for the elections to be free of corruption."
