CPDM executives renew membership cards

Sectoral presidents of the CPDM in the north are currently busy with their chairpersons of committees to renew their membership and dues cards in their respective jurisdictions.

These documents which attest their belonging to the party in power were given Saturday during a meeting for information and awareness facilitation by the representative of the central Committee, the Minister Grégoire Owona.

Occasionally, the deputy Secretary general of the central Committee edifies his comrades on the objectives of this operation. It requires a regular operation of placement of the cards of the party whose discontinuation a few years ago was due to some malfunction.

The second motivation for this campaign is financial. It aims to replenish the funds of the party through contributions from activists from the base to the Summit. For this purpose, five types of cards were made available to the militants; the CPDM membership cards which cost 500 F, the CPDM contribution cards, the WCPDM cards, the WCPDM and the card for "Huge promoters".

The membership card is acquired at 500F and dues rates are 1,000 F for the CPDM and 500 F for the WCPDM and for 'Major promoters', the amount of the annual contributions rises to 500,000. This operation, noted Grégoire Owona intervenes as a prelude to the next renewal of the offices of the organs of the party base.

The inscription on a list of electors is thus subject to (possession) purchasing a membership card which will serve as the electoral map in accordance with the principle of the popular vote required by the resolutions of the last Congress of the party in September 2011. The various sections have until December 31 to reassemble the central Committee data related to this operation.

The precariousness of the security situation in the far North will bring the party hierarchy to give some flexibility to the sections of the affected areas particularly in the departments of Logone and Chari, the Mayo-Sava and Mayo-Tsanaga during a press briefing held yesterday in the permanence of the CPDM in Maroua, the far North regional representative said that the cards are placed by the chairpersons of the base committees and revenues are collected by the Treasurer of the bodies. They are relevant only to sign these documents.

The presidents of sections play only a supervisory role and mobilization during this operation. However, for the placement of 'Major promoters' cards they are responsible.

Older cards remain valid but those damaged can be exchanged for new ones with reference to the date of accession to the party. CMS of central Committee warned those who may be tempted to divert funds from the campaign to be careful as disciplinary sanctions without prejudice to judicial proceedings are planned.
