The Littoral administration handed over the corpse to their families Friday, October 24, 2014.

The mortal remains of the four victims of the collapsed Crtv pylon antenna at Logbessou, Douala, were buried on Saturday, October 25, after an official corpse removal at the Mortuary of the Douala Military Hospital in Bonanjo presided over by the Governor of the Littoral Region, Joseph Beti Assomo.

The corpses were buried in their respective villages. Ndjooh François (58) who was technical director for the private maintenance enterprise, Cartel, was buried at Ndonga, Massock Patrice Mbondo (37) in Bomtol, near Matomb, Mbouma Tjeck Dieudonne (37), who was telecom technician at Song par Ngog-Mbog Loghèga, as well as Epoh Elong Hubert Roland.

Beside the mortuary bills, Littoral’s Chief Executive Joseph Beti Assomo, in an unspeakable expression of consolation and mercy, offered special gifts to widows of the deceased Cartel workers in the presence of the Littoral Communication Delegate, Mireille Bisseck, among other authorities of the region. Crtv’s special package to support the bereaved families was handed over to the respective families by the regional director of Crtv, Serge Ngando Ntone. Meanwhile, Cartel took charge of all other expenses related to the losses.

The sad incident occurred last September 28, 2014. The victims were rehabilitating the 160 metres long equipment when the 32-year-old pylon, loaded with transmitters collapsed.

Cartel Director General, earlier on, attributed the cause of the accident to the surplus weight placed on the pylon antenna. The pylon was loaded with antennas of Camtel, Orange, Mtn, Rfi, Bbc, and Africa N°1. Furthermore the four workers at the time of the collapse added their weight to it.
