A two-day meeting of Public Radio and Television Network in Francophone Africa (RAPAF) has just ended in Yaounde.
During the meeting, experts brainstormed on how to meet the heavy production demands characteristic of digital terrestrial broadcasting.
On the occasion, the General Manager of the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), President of RAPAF, Amadou Vamoulke called for regional solidarity.
He argued that the transition will be hitch-free if every member within the chain of production embraces the changes.
Other important discussions included the acquisition of transmission rights for sports competitions. The issue was brought up following complaints of the very high rates charged to acquire broadcasting rights especially for Public Service Broadcasters.
The Public Radio and Television Network in Francophone Africa (RAPAF) is an organisation created in June 2007 to discuss common problems and improve on quality broadcasting all in a bid to uphold a solid African audio-visual sector.
The network is made up of 21 broadcasting cooperations principally within the Public Service Broadcasting domain.
