A collection of old Cameroonian musical tracks were delivered on hard drives to the German ambassador on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 during an evening ceremony at his residence in Yaoundé.
Hundreds of people gathered for the occasion of the "finalisation of the Germano-Cameroonian project for the safeguarding of the cultural heritage”.
Clearly, it was to pick the fruits of a project, worth approximately 80 million Cfa Francs. The project was launched two years ago by the Cameroon Radio Television (Crtv), the Germany Embassy in Cameroon, the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the University of Bayreuth in Germany and the association Arc Musica of Joachim Oelsner Adam, is to archive digitized Cameroonian music spanning over 17 years.
On this occasion, hard drives of the Cameroonian music were presented to three recipients: the Embassy of Germany in Cameroon, University of Bayreuth represented by Mr. Bender and Cameroon radio television, whose director general Amadou Vamoulke made the trip to receive not only the hard disk containing thousands of hours of Cameroonian music, but also a digital terminal that will allow the Crtv to broadcast programmes connected to the country's artistic heritage.
In addition to the ambassadors of Germany and Israel present at this evening with their close collaborators, Minister Grégoire Owona, great lover of arts was also present.
The cultural personalities like François Bingono Bingono, Tony Marc Mefe, André Nkouaga, Jean Maurice Noah, Valsero, Dr. Félicien Ntone were also there.
Anne Marie Nzié, Atebass among others entertained the people at the ceremony.
