199 current and retired members of staff of the Cameroon Radio Television, (CRTV) have received over 400 labour medals, for their efforts in promoting the activities of the corporation through their attitude to work.
The award ceremony took place this 5th December 2014 at the CRTV Studio One in Mballa II Yaounde.
The medals handed over were of three categories: silver, vermeil and gold. CRTV General Manager, Ahmadou Vamoulke chaired the event in the presence of Deputy General Manager, Francis Wete.
The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Gregoire Owona before the award of medals, congratulated the awardees and reminded them of their duty to Cameroonians just as the corporation slogan states it: “CRTV at the heart of the nation.”
Minister Gregoire Owona also reiterated that the medals were not only given on the basis of longevity but due to merit and as a sign of recognition for hard work.
The Minister of Communication who is also Head of the Board of Directors of CRTV, Issa Tchiroma Bakary was present to oversee the smooth running of the event.
The ceremony was graced with music from the CRTV Orchestra and jokes from the stand-up comedian, Kokam Narcisse.
