Some staff of the Cameroon Radio and Television Corporation CRTV have begun a one week seminar to prepare corporation for the digital switch in 2015.
Participants of the seminar are made up of producers of Television programs and technicians.
The seminar which was opened by CRTV’s Deputy General Manager Francis Wete had as Resource Person Frederik Boulay from the International French channel.
In his opening remark, Francis Wete called on program producers to be more innovative in the production of programs because they are designed to meet up with international standards of digital Broadcast.
On his part the French expert, Frederik Boulay outlined the advantages of digital Television. He said digital broadcasting is characterized by improved broadcast quality and available band width for multiple channels.
This explains why, as a media of public service, the government decides that CRTV should set up six additional Television channels after the switch over.
TV producers taking part in the workshop have cautioned against financial constraints that might slow down the production of programs to meet the needs of these new channels.
