Cameroon Scouts Association gets new commissioner

Magala epse Nsoa Claudine Josiane Françoise has been appointed the new General Commissioner of the Cameroon Scouts Association. She was elected during an Extraordinary General Assembly of the Cameroon Scouts Association in Yaounde on Saturday December 21, 2014. Magala epse Nsoa will pilot the affairs of the association for the next six years.

Speaking at the closing, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Bidoung Mkpatt, called on the members to be united for what is important is the maintenance of peace in all aspects of the Scout movement. He urged them to practice tolerance and collaboration at the local and international levels above all to train the youth.

The Extraordinary General Assembly of the Cameroon Scouts Association held after a long period of internal quarrels within the association which had jeopardised the primary mission of the organisation which is the moral and civic education of youths.

The Extraordinary General Assembly marked a turning point in the Cameroon Scouts Association. It was an opportunity to give a balance sheet of the activities of the association, plan for the future and choose leaders who will implement the future educative project.

One of the election bureau members, Gregroire Momo, said the election was transparent and that the newly elected General Commissioner is the choice of all the delegates from the ten regions of the country.

The process for restoring peace within the Cameroon Scout movement has been successful thanks to the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education and the World Scouts Association.
