Some 995 fighters of the Nigerian militant sect Boko Haram are being detained in Cameroonian prisons, according to the government Commissioner of the Maroua Military Tribunal.
119 of them were tried and sentenced to long prison terms, generally death sentence a source close to the case said.
Those sanctions are proportional to the gravity of their actions which include suicide attacks and looting on Cameroonian territory.
They were all accused of murder, looting and other criminal offenses on civilians and soldiers.
Apart from these militant being held in Cameroon, hundreds of other Boko Haram fighters have been handed over to the Nigerian authorities.
