Cameroon’s telecom ministry has opened a call for tender until 10 April for a specialised consultancy to conduct a financial audit of the work done by MTN Cameroon regarding the building of the WACS undersea cable landing in Limbe.
The consultancy will have to verify if the work done corresponds to the amount declared by the operator, to ensure that the equipment used corresponds to the declared price, and to check that all of the invoices presented by MTN Cameroon only concern the construction of the landing point.
Agence Ecofin writes that the operator turned over ownership of the landing point to the state of Cameroon in return for being reimbursed for the cost involved in building the infrastructure.
