The Minister of Health will address a press conference in Yaounde on strengthening preventive measures of hemorrhagic fever that already kills in Nigeria since a few days, Pana has reported.
The announcement of the Ebola crisis in Nigeria has sparked a surge further in the Department of Public Health who organized, with the support of partners such as the World Health Organization (WHO), a meeting with experts to rethink an effective strategy.
The recommendations of this meeting is to strengthen the measures put in place by Minister André Mama Fouda for reporting cases of hemorrhagic fever in West Africa (Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea-Conakry)
Mama Fouda then reassured that the control had been strengthened at airports and border towns, and that staff had been trained for screening tests and treatment.
Because of the long border that Cameroon shares with Nigeria, there are concerns any time cases of this nature are recorded in Nigeria due to the history of it being imported into cameroon.
